Day 1 : Start of the Adventure
We left the Noida office early on the 13th September, eager for a weekend of wellness. But, Mother Nature had her own plans. Our journey began in the rain, which decided to stick around like a pesky guest. And so, our escapade turned into a waterlogged odyssey.
As we neared our resort, the real drama began. Thunderstorm-induced chaos led to a massive tree falling right across our the road, blocking our way. A 30-minute pit stop ensured that everyone participated in the discussion around ways to remove that tree. Just when we thought things couldn’t get any crazier…
We were a mere 500 meters from the resort when a stream decided to go on a rampage. The water was so strong it could’ve swept our vehicles into a new adventure. Quick thinking from Nawaz and a call to the resort got us one of the most reliable 4x4 off-roader, Gypsy, to help us cross the raging river. Kudos to the resort for saving the day!
After check-in, while some sought refuge in their rooms, the rest of us had other plans. Some team members took such a liking to the pool that they resembled hippos revelling in muddy waters. Our "hippos" couldn’t resist the allure of the pool, rain or no rain. They made quite a splash and turned the pool into their personal jungle gym.
The evening was filled with musical vibes and snacks. Our in-house rockstars, Sandeep Sha and Vishal Jaiswal entertained us with their tunes. And, just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, Shuaib delivered an inspiring motivational speech that left everyone emotionally charged. We had to politely pull him off the stage with, “Bass kar pagle, rulayega kya?”
As the night deepened, our “hippos” once again made their way to the pool. They seemed determined to enjoy every last drop of the pool’s water, proving that their love for swimming knows no bounds!
Day 2: The Big Cat Chase
The next day greeted us with cloudy skies and no rain—finally! We had a jungle safari planned for the afternoon. But as fate would have it, the safari was cancelled due to flooding in the core forest regions. So, we set off in our jeeps to explore the outer forest areas, hoping for a tiger sighting.
Alas, no tigers were spotted, but we did enjoy seeing some deer and other flora and fauna. The forest was lush, and our spirits were high despite the lack of big cat sightings.
The evening was once again filled with music and merriment. Our “hippos” continued their aquatic escapades, ensuring the pool remained their playground until late.
A few went out again for a night safari to catch the glimpse of tiger in a moon-lit night. They kept waiting along the river stream, hearing the melodious gushing musical sound of water, spotting a few fire-flies and some spotted deers; but no big cat.
Day 3: A Sunrise Serenade
On our final day, some early birds ventured for a morning walk by the nearby rivers, “Khichdi” and “Kosi.” They were treated to a beautiful sunrise, lovely butterflies and the sweet melodies of chirping birds—an inspiring start to our last day.
After a hearty breakfast, it was time to pack up and head home. The return journey was smooth, with typical traffic but nothing compared to our adventurous drive in. We had a late lunch enroute.
Though we didn’t spot any tigers, our own “TIGERS” certainly came back rejuvenated. The adventure, camaraderie, and unexpected moments made this getaway a roaring success. Here’s to more wild weekends and unforgettable team adventures!
